FIRE WILLIE!!!

"History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce."
Welcome to the farce, Mets fans!!!

Happy Father's Day (sort of)...

Well, for Father's Day, we were able to get tickets to the final game of this year's Subway Series. The seats were crappy, but hopefully the Mets could take the series and prove who was the better team. This day was not meant to be and the Mets got pounded early. All in all, it was a great Father's Day, but a win would have been nice icing on the cake. Here are some picture from that day...

This is Our Town!!!

On June 15th, Alex, Albert, Nat and Manny went to the subway series at Yankee Stadium. Man, do I love shea...Parking was a nightmare, I lost my ticket on the way in, and then you have to deal with annoying yankee fans, but it was ALL worthwhile. We got to see the Mets break their losing streak and at the same time, break the Yankees' winning streak. The ride home through the Bronx was an adventure, but we made it home fine...and got to celebrate that huge win.

The Mets' Slide Begins...

Rocky came through again with some great seats

On June 6th, Rocky got the gang tickets to the Mets-Phillies game, courtesy of Omar's office. Little did we know that it was the beginning of trouble for the Mets. El Duque pitched a gem, but the offense struggled and Heilman gave up a killer homerun to Jimmy Rollins of all people. To make matters worse, Endy pulled a hamstring while trying to stay out of a doubleplay. All in all, it was a frustrating night out, but it was good to see the guys again...

Gabe, Rocky and Adrian all looking very professional...LOL!

Best baseball vacation - part deux...

On May 25th, we took a flight down to Fort Lauderdale to enjoy some fun in the sun for Memorial Day. Lucky for us, we happened to be in the same hotel as the Mets. With a little help from Justin's friend, Nicky we were able to meet most of the team. We even got to ride in the elevator with Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes. What a weekend! Enjoy the pics below:

Florida Road Trip in May...

Dolphin Stadium

On May 26th, we were in Florida while the Mets were playing the Marlins. What a perfect time to go to a game and watch the Mets. Even in the pouring rain, the game was fun to watch. Unluckily, we didn't stick around to see the post-game concert, but the Mets did come up with a win for John Maine in the game by a score of 6-2. Here are some pics from Dolphin stadium:

Kings of New York...

On May 18th, the Subway Series began and we were there. Over 56,000 fans were going crazy, but we were definitely leading the way up in Section 31. Oliver Perez gave us a great outing and only made 1 bad pitch. Once again, Endy was the hero of NY and the legend continues to grow. The Mets won the first game of the 2007 Subway Series 3-2. When I got home, we had to pass the legend on to Athena and even she caught on quickly. EN-DY CHA-VEZ!!! Watch Athena saying EN-DY!

Gotta teach them young!

The best $9 ever spent...

On May 16th, it looked like the Mets would be rained out for the game against the Cubs. However, because the Cubs back to back day games with travel in between a doubleheader would be impossible. So the Mets waited out the rain and Landy got inspired to take a trip. When game time was announced, we hopped in the car and headed to Flushing. Parking was free and an upper reserved ticket got us 6 rows from the dugout. Lucky for us the other 7000 diehards kept us company to watch Carlos Gomez and the Mets turn things around with a 8-1 win. (pictures to come...)

Mets-Cubs- Game 2...

On May 15th, we all went to Shea to see the Mets play the Cubs. It was a gorgeous night for baseball and Athena enjoyed the game. Lucky for her, she was too young to understand that Schoeneweis was awful and let the game get away from us. On this night, it was time for another loss to Carlos Zambrano and the Cubs by a score of 10-1. I really am starting to think that we are the kiss of death. The litmus test will be the Yankee game on Friday. If we lose that one, it might be time to give up our 7-pack tickets...

Team Unity...

OK, so maybe it was the boredom of the West Coast, but the Mets had some fun by shaving their heads to show some team unity. Let's show some support over here in the East!

Another loss...

On April 20th, we went to Shea again...this time to see the Mets and the hated Braves. Unluckily, the Mets were never in this one, losing 7-3. I'm starting to think we are the kiss of death. Even on a cold Friday night, Athena was a trooper in her first game of the year. Have you ever seen a cuter Mets fan?

Tailgating days...

On April 14th, tickets went down to $2...that meant it was time to tailgate. We had 16 tickets, but everyone was afraid of the cold. In the end, we used up 8 of the tickets. We had the usual burgers and Windmill hotdogs, but the chicken was left somewhere in Hudson County. The Mets lost to the lowly Nationals 6-2 on this day, but we still had a good time. Enjoy some pictures from that day...

Your Season Has Come...

On April 9th, it was time for the 2007 Mets home opener. As usually, the whole crew was together for the tailgate in the parking lot. We were worried about the parking situation, so we got there at 8:45. There were no problems for us, just alot of good times. Its good to have the season back. Oh, and the Mets won 11-5 thanks to JIM-MY ROL-LINS!!!

You gotta love the romance at Shea!
